Overview

A Business Analyst (BA) acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to identify reporting and analytics needs, analyze operational processes, and deliver data-driven solutions. The BA ensures that business goals are translated into accurate requirements and actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and analytics products that improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify operational reporting needs, KPIs, and success criteria.
    • Conduct interviews, workshops, and requirement sessions to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Document detailed business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows in tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Data & Reporting Analysis
    • Translate business needs into specifications for reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
    • Work with data engineering and BI teams to validate source-to-report data mapping, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Analyze and profile source system data to confirm reporting feasibility and data quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
    • Present findings, insights, and recommendations in clear business language.
    • Support stakeholder training and adoption of new reports, dashboards, or analytics solutions.
  • Operational Reporting Development Support
    • Partner with BI developers to design effective operational reports and dashboards (using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy).
    • Perform functional testing and validation of developed reports against requirements.
    • Ensure consistent use of business definitions, metrics, and reporting standards across deliverables.
  • Process Improvement & Governance
    • Identify opportunities for improving operational processes and reporting workflows.
    • Support adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, PHI/PII safeguards in healthcare).
    • Contribute to the development of reporting best practices and documentation standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Fully bi-Lingual (both written and verbal).
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in operational reporting, data analytics, or a healthcare payer environment.
    • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments with Epics, User Stories, and backlogs.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong proficiency in requirement documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Office/Visio).
    • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data.
    • Familiarity with BI/reporting platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy. (Preferred).
    • Understanding of data warehouses, relational databases (Oracle, Hadoop), and data pipelines (Preferred).
  • Core Competencies
    • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, data quality, and documentation completeness.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational reporting environment.
    • Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Base compensation ranges from $29,000 to $34,000 pesos per month. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
