Overview

The Senior Manager, Human Resources - Mexico is a strategic and tactical role that provides comprehensive Human Resources support and leadership to our operations in Mexico. This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management, driving HR initiatives, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws. The Senior Manager, Human Resources - Mexico is a member of the North America HRBP team and will partner with the Global Human Resources COEs, including talent acquisition, employee experience, HR operations, and total rewards. This position will also partner closely with Mexico leadership to foster a positive work environment, promote a culture of excellence, and enhance organizational performance.

Responsibilities

HR Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the Mexico operations and business strategy.
  • Partner with leaders in Mexico and the U.S. to align HR strategies with short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead and manage the HR team in Mexico, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Serve as a coach and advisor to leadership on talent-related decisions, organizational design, workforce optimization, and culture.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop proactive HR solutions, programs, and policies.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Collaborate with the talent acquisition team on the attraction of top talent.
  • Develop and execute onboarding programs to ensure new hires integrate smoothly.
  • Implement performance management, talent management and succession planning strategies to identify and develop high-potential employees

Employee Engagement & Relations:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through proactive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead or oversee employee relations issues with fairness, consistency, and legal compliance. Address and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Collaborate with the total rewards team to design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with market trends and company objectives.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure the organization's offerings remain attractive and equitable.

Learning and Development:

  • Partner with the corporate L&D team to localize and execute global training initiatives
  • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage HR-related audits and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risks and promote a safe workplace.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on HR activities, trends, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Execute other duties as needed.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or Human Resources, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience. Professional credentials (such as SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Proven experience working for a US-based company and managing HR functions in Mexico, with a strong understanding of local labor laws and regulations.
  • Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on employee development and engagement.
  • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience in a matrix organization is highly desirable. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality and establish trust and credibility
